History is not a burden on the memory but an illumination of the soul.

Our next cache hides at the site of a large annual event for Mobridge. The event was started by Dr. A. W. Spiry on his ranch south of Mobridge. Because it was so popular, it was moved the next year to its current location. The original location, like many of the first farms and ranches, was flooded when the Army Corps of Engineers built the Oahe Dam. One young man was so determined to attend the event, that he rode his horse three days to get there.
