History never looks like history when you are living through it.
-John W. Gardner
If you follow the Yellowstone Trail through our city, you might drive right past this local gem. During the warmer months, visitors can stop here to learn about Native American and pioneer history.
The building was built by a generous couple and other local donors on land owned by the City in 1975. This generous couple also donated their ranch to the ELCA. It’s now a youth camp run by Lutheran Outdoors. The building is surrounded by five historic buildings, an Arikara lodge replica, and other monuments.
