Legend: A lie that has attained the dignity of age.
-H. L. Mencken
To stay on track, you’ll have to head toward another public space, but this one is managed by the state. It boasts an archery range, playground, public beach, picnic areas, and lots of walking trails. Named for a pioneer family whose farm was flooded out when the Oahe Dam was built, this is a favorite spot for families… and occasionally snakes.
This area requires a day pass, so our cache can be found near the rails that one must cross to visit it. Make sure to leave plenty of room for safety—our tracks are still very active today.
