Welcome to the Historic Mobridge Geocache Tour- a cross between a self-guided tour and a treasure hunt. We hope you enjoy it!

While Mobridge was home to native peoples many years before, the western town was incorporated in 1906 as part of a bustling westward railroad expansion.

Our first cache is located at a place named after an early entrepreneur. He came to Mobridge willing to invest and started Citizen’s Bank on the east side of Main Street. He built 40-50 shotgun houses, at six houses per block, many remain south of present-day Trinity Lutheran Church. He also built a palatial hotel on Main Street, the Mascot Theater, and now rests, surround by rose quartz, on land he donated for the Greenwood Cemetery. His original house was later moved to 6th Avenue E. and is still occupied today.

This cache is located at a building he built in 1929 and donated to the city. You can still see the cornerstone and sit and read about him there today.
